Day 1 & 2 - Thimphu
10th & 11th October
Our friendly Bhutanese guide & driver greet us on our arrival in Paro & its just a short drive of approx 1 hour to Bhutan's capital city, Thimphu. There are a wide variety of things to do in Thimphu, including visits to the Zorig Chusom Handicraft school, Folk Heritage Museum, walk through the countryside to Tango Monastery, real coffee @ internet cafe, Nunnery, Handmade paper factory, National Institute of Traditional Medicine & the best shopping.
Day 3, 4 & 5 - Jakar - Bumthang valley
12th, 13 & 14th October
Early on the 12th October we drive to Bumthang, a serene & beautiful valley in Central Bhutan.
During our stay we visit several Buddhist temples, see the burning lake, Jakar Dzong & explore Jakar township.
We will also be giving their annual sponsorships to some young monks at Tamshing Monastery.

Day 6 & 7 - Punakha
15th & 16th October
During our stay here we visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong and hear its ancient stories. Stroll through red rice fields to the temple of the famous Divine Madman which is always a delight.
We can also learn to play the national Bhutanese sport of archery, at a local farmhouse.

Day 8, 9 & 10 - Paro
17th 18 & 19th October
On our drive back from Punakha we pop in to Thimphu for lunch & any last minute shopping. Then on to Paro where there are many places we can visit including Kyichu Lhakang and Dilgo Khyentse's Memorial House.
On our last day we will be hiking to the magnificent Tigers Nest (Taktsang Monastery). It is one of the highlights of any trip to Bhutan and a wonderful way to end our journey.
